River Rock Gardens & Cottages sits on a bend of the North Fork of the American River, just outside Lewiston in the shadow of the Trinity Alps. The land has been a resting place for travelers since long before the highways arrived — gold-seekers, loggers, and families looking for a quiet corner of the foothills.
Today we offer a handful of cottages set among mature oaks and river birch, with garden paths that wind down to the water. There's no television to distract you here. Just the sound of the river, the shade of the canopy, and the kind of silence you have to drive two hours to find.

The Birch Cabin

The Cedar Lodge

We're off Highway 299, just past the Lewiston sign, where the pavement turns to gravel and the cell service fades. That's the point. If you need a big-box store or a coffee chain, you'll have to drive. If you need quiet, you're already here.
